LPN Testing

Thank you for your interest in the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program at the Career Center of Southern Illinois (CCSI), 6137 Beck Road, Red Bud IL 62278, 618-473-2222.  The Monroe-Randolph Regional Office of Education (ROE) proctors the ACT WorkKeys Internet Version as a prerequisite for entrance into CCSI’s LPN program.  The three tests are Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information and Locating Information.

General Information about the WorkKeys Tests

Potential LPN students can forego the WorkKeys tests with a composite ACT score of 18 or higher, earned within the last 5 years.

The WorkKeys tests are proctored at the Chester Regional Office of Education, Randolph County Courthouse, #1 Taylor Street, Room 101, Chester IL 62233, 618-826-5471, on the first and third Wednesdays of each month.

The WorkKeys tests are proctored at the Waterloo Regional Office of Education, 107 East Mill Street, Waterloo IL 62298,  618-939-5650, every Tuesday of the month.

Full-battery testers take their 3 tests from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. (arrive at 8:45 a.m.) and retesters from 1:30–4:15 p.m. (arrive at 1:15 p.m.) at both locations.  The WorkKeys tests are timed, so you must be on time.

Important to note: WorkKeys tests can be taken as often as a tester wants, and scores are good for five years from the date when requirements were first met.

Test Registration

Both full-battery testers and retesters must register and pay fees by noon the Monday before the test date at www.educationregistration.org; click on WorkKeys Testing.   Fees of $54 for full-battery testers and $18/test for retesters are payable when you register online with a credit or debit card.

Rescheduling and Cancellation Policies

Reschedule Policy: Testers may reschedule one time by phoning Waterloo 618-939-5650 or Chester 618-826-5471 by noon 3 working days prior to their test date.  Example: Waterloo testers, who test on Tuesday, would have to reschedule for another date by noon on the previous Thursday.

Cancellation Policy: Testers must cancel by noon 3 working days prior to their test date to receive a partial refund: the ROE keeps a $5/test processing fee.  NO REFUNDS will be given for late cancellations or no shows.

Refunds will be made in the form of a check.  No cash refunds will be given.

The Monroe-Randolph ROE 45 reserves the right to cancel any testing session due to conditions beyond its control.  Registrants will then be rescheduled at no charge.

A score of 5 or greater on Applied Math and Workplace Documents and 4 or greater on Graphic Literacy (in a range of 3–7) is required for consideration for admittance into the Beck School of Practical Nursing at CCSI. Reviewing the formula.pdf below will help you prepare for the math portion.
